Surprisingly fun to use, great peace of mind
I learned about these from Bitner Built on YouTube. Our household generates a fair amount of cardboard to be recycled so I filed it away in my head, reticent to spend more money on something I currently do by hand. Then my older child found the MakeDo building system, which are tools and fasteners for building and crafting with cardboard. I found 3D printable fastener and driver clones, but every 3D printed knife I tried left much to be desired. Then I remembered this and bought one.To my great relief, it was a joy to use. It's easy to manipulate, requires little force, and completely removes the anxiety of sharp blades. I still like to be careful with it just in case it catches my skin the wrong way, but so far so good. I'm usually more worried about getting a cardboard cut - those are vicious. The sheath clips and releases almost perfectly. It lives in my tool pouch and we use it for all sorts of the projects. I might even buy a multi-pack, totally worth the price.

Stops me from procrastinating
I got this to cut down cardboard for recycling. I HATE using razor type blades for breaking down cardboard and I hate that my family uses them too. There are just too many things that can go wrong. And the blades get dull, and then things can go wrong as you try to replace or snap off the blade, too.I thought this was a totally different type of blade lol. Not sure what I was expecting but this tool has a real metal knife blade. You can definitely cut yourself on it but in a similar way to how you can cut yourself with a sharper serrated butter knife. It has TEENY tiny serrations. It's like a saw.You can saw through cardboard with back and forth motions, or a lot of the time you can position the knife just right and drag it down through the cardboard in one movement. Sometimes dragging doesn't work as well but it's fine. It's hard to jab the blade through intact cardboard because the tip isn't sharp, so you may need a second tool for that. The little sheath is good to have but it doesn't stay on very well. We keep the knife in a pencil cup so it's fine.Anyway I'm really glad I have it. One of the main points of getting this was to have a tool that would help me stop avoiding breaking down the boxes, and it worked. I break them down as soon as we empty them. And I'm much less scared about one of us stabbing ourselves now.

Totally worth the money and saves you hassle
I've been using the CANARY Cardboard Cutter for a few weeks now, and I have to say, it’s become my go-to tool for opening boxes and packages. First off, the serrated blade is super sharp, and it slices through cardboard like butter. I love that it’s made from Japanese stainless steel, which feels sturdy and reliable. One of my favorite features is the non-stick coating on the blade. I didn’t really think much of it at first, but it actually makes a difference! You know how sometimes tape and glue can get all stuck on the blade? Not with this one! It cuts cleanly every time, which is a big plus in my book. The size is just right—7.5 inches is easy to handle without feeling bulky. Plus, it comes with a sheath that keeps the blade covered when I’m not using it, so I can toss it in my drawer or bag without worrying about accidental cuts. I mean, who wants to deal with that? Now, for the downsides: the only thing I noticed is that the sheath can be a bit tricky to get on and off at times. It’s not a deal-breaker, but it could be a bit smoother. Also, it might not be the best choice for those who need a heavy-duty cutter for tougher materials.Overall, I’m really happy with this purchase. If you’re looking for a reliable box cutter that’s easy to use and safe to store, I highly recommend giving this one a shot. Five stars from me!

Great little things…buy a few, great little novelty gifts.
Been using these for +10 years. They work great on cardboard, but also work well when slicing through the backing of carpeting and rugs (from the back). (Almost) like a hot knife through butter. Lasts a few years easily with normal household use.

Very nice tool - more useful than I thought it would be.
An inexpensive but very useful tool. My wife even loves it. It works great on cardboard boxes to open and then cut them down when needed. Have used it for several months now and it's still going strong.

For the delivery addicted, a great tool
It seems that I need to break down boxes from Amazon, Walmart, and other retailers multiple times daily around the house. Keeping this tool handy by the door, makes this easy. Easy to handle and relatively hard to cut yourself, this tool helps breaking down boxes, ripping seams, or even cutting tape. It's one of those things you don't really appreciate until you have one.

Interesting knife
I don't know why I bought this because I don't break down cardboard on a regular basis. I did test it out and it works great.
