The Ultimate Matrix Collection [4K Ultra HD] [1999] [Blu-ray] [2024] [Region Free]

You would think that having The Matrix and the subsequent sequels available from time to time on streaming services would rule out purchasing 4K bluray. Especially as I already have the Ultimate Matrix Collection on DVDHowever you would be wrong, especially in a growing climate of disappearing physical media. The Ultimate Matrix Collection 4K is worth every penny for the pristine 4K image, sublime HDR and Dolby Atmos audio. The streaming versions of these movies simply cannot match this 4K format as they are compressed to be delivered via your broadband ISP of choice even.In the collection, you get the Matrix Trilogy as well as the uprezzed version of the Animatrix as well as commentary and extras for all the movies. As a bonus, you also get The Matrix Resurrections in the collection. This is a film that I still need to rewatch to determine if it exists or not.

Provide very good picture. I have an ultra HD blu ray player and a massive 85" ultra HD 8K TV linked up to a surround sound soundbar system. The HD picture quality is superb; better than streaming & sound quality is awesome (yes I get FULL surround sound).Added bonus, comes with the Animatrix which I didn't realise at time of order AND it comes with "extras" discs.Very happy. Would thoroughly recommend to Matrix fans.

Exactly what it says it is. You get the original trilogy on three 4K UHD discs with accompanying Special Features blu discs for each (which from what I can tell contain the same standard definition content as the original 2008 blu-ray releases repackaged on to seperate discs), and Resurrections on one UHD disc with no bonus features.The only movie on blu-ray here is The Animatrix which alone makes this set worth a buy due to the increasing value of the standalone blu.For the great new 4K remasters of the old trilogy and the inclusion of the 4th movie and the Animatrix finally together in a box set, I would give this 5 stars but I'll knock a point off for the lack of blu-ray movies here which results in the missing bonus features of Resurrections. Otherwise, totally worth getting.

If this were the ultimate Matrix collection it would only contain the first film.
