WHAT?
Ok so I have read the reviews and I keep asking WHAT? Sometimes I think people write reviews and have no clue what they are talking about. So I bought this watch just because in the 80s I was kid and my dad had a Timex. I like to know tides and temps and why not the compass? So this being the only watch other that a crappy old smart watch is the only thing out there that met my needs. I read the reviews and laughed.I bought the stainless steel version and it is very nice. Snobs will talk crap about the quartz movement but it works and is still alive about 50 years later. So why the bad reviews? Some said the accuracy was off. Well I can attest that mine is perfect. I used NIST's atomic clock to set my watch and in 4 days is dead on what I set it at. The tide function: manufacturer states it is not "exactly" accurate but I set it based on the tide of where I like to boat in Beaufort, SC and it is close enough that I can't tell how inaccurate it is. Compass is not accurate due to the fact it's in a watch but it is close. If you need to be accurate then you won't be using your watch anyway. So, why the bad reviews?Because some people don't know how to set a watch. I am a metrologist. I have a timometer to check watches and timers and etc. I just set it on the timometer and it says -0.003secs. TIMEX gets -0.003secs ? BTW, Timex states 6 secs a month or something like that on this watch. It will take a long time for it to get that far off by wear and tear. It may not last that long but it is worth the buy if you're not a snobby watch collector who hates on watches because they have nothing else better to do.

Broken in box
Nice looking watch, but the 4th hand doesn't work. Can't use the Tide-Temp-Compass function.

I need to know tides
I use this watch for telling the tide when out boating. It is holding up great in salt water. I rinse it off when hosing down the boat and trailer. Keeps time and blue sapphire remaining scratch free.

Cool factor off the charts, accuracy not so good!
Just got the watch in today and to be honest, I could care less about the tide and temp functions of this watch. The cool factor is what got me to purchase the watch. Setting up the watch was straight forward though I had to download the manual from the Timex website. The issue is, I had to adjust the watch time twice after setting the time initially out of the box. Not sure if the battery needs changing from sitting in warehouse or store however , I fing the time accuracy issue interesting being it's brand new. The build quality is stellar. Will hold on to it for a couple more days before I return it if it keeps going the way it does. I really like this watch.

A working watch
No real complaints. The watch is rugged, built to last. I bought it to track the tides in my area. While I can't say it 100% accurate all the time- it serves to give me an idea. I'm still having questions about the compass and temperature features with regards to if or how the indicator changes up with regards to what is being "read"- but I suppose I need to play with it more to figure things out. Overall, I find it easy to read, though at night wit the light- it is a bit more difficult.Water resistance? Yes, it is. Have I tested it to depth? No. Salt spray, some immersion maybe, and that's the extent of it. Looks? Am satisfied. Weight? I like a heavy watch. Lets me know there's something on my arm. This one isn't heavy- but it's not titanium light either. Value? I'm satisfied with it.

More pretty than practical, but 5 stars
Got me a pretty little thing here. Love that it still has indigo. Wondering if anyone else has one that I can compare notes with. The temp gauge is affected by body temp…by about 18 degrees! But I guess I can adjust it or just take it off for more accurate readings. I’m sure I’ll NEVER use the tide function. Compass works, but prob useless. Overall I love the look and durability, but wish it had more practical features like a chronometer. So why didn’t I go with a chronometer? Because this looks sooooo badassssss. And I can use the bezel as a timer. Also, a tiny note on the tiny warranty booklet: call a 1-800 number and get the warranty extended for 4 years for only $5!

Disappointing
I tried this watch twice. Getting ready for a backpacking trip, the first one was delivered while I was still at home and had serious malfunctions. I exchanged it for a replacement and that one seemed to be fine. I left on my trip and the watch failed within about a week. Similar problems. Since I was traveling, I was unable to return it so my money went down the drain. I'm very disappointed that this watch wasn't the perfect travel watch I thought I had finally found. Instead, it was a huge waste of money on a useless piece of trash. Timex's brand reputation has suffered permanent damage. I'll probably never again buy a Timex.
