Q: My son has 4a/4b/4c hair and I've been having a tough time finding a way to define his curl pattern. Will this product work for his hair texture?

Okay, my son and I have 4c hair. In order to define curls, I have used this product and done a two strand twist. The pattern was be defined once dry. I can't just put any product on our hair and have the pattern come out. I mention because that means other products are just as effective as this one since we have to further manipulate our hair once we use the product. The twist came out nice. I can't say it felt as moisturized as I would like but it was okay. Now, Jane Carter Nourish and Shine, I love! Again, I had to twist my hair in order for the pattern to come but a little mist of water on dry hair and a little bit of the Nourish and Shine was great. It gave my hair shine and it's not wet so a little of the shrinkage was minimized. It had some moisture to it and felt good. I purchased it online since the pricing was better. I also like, Au Naturale Easy Twist Gel N' Butter. It's nice too and less expensive than both. It worked well with my two strand twist.Hope this helps. I will say this, it smells great to me!! LOL

Q: Does it define wavy hair? Does it leave oily residue? Does it help with frizz?

It does define my natural wavy curl and does help keep the frizz down on my naturally curly blonde hair. I have never noticed an oily residue when using this product. I love it!

Q: Can this work for wash & go's w/3b hair ? And how does it smell ?

It smells clean and slightly sweet. Never turns rancid etc. The product is great I have been using it for years. I am a b/male and it enhances my wavy hair, I love it. The secret is to slightly moisten the hair with the product. And watch the fireworks!
