Great for Creative Kids
I bought this button maker as a Christmas present for my daughter, and three months later, it’s still going strong! It’s sturdy, well-made, and hasn’t broken, which is a big plus. It’s also easy to use, and she has so much fun making buttons with funny buttons and buttons that have her favorite singer on it. Definitely recommend for those with children who have a creative side.

Sturdy but temperamental
I've been using this button press for three years now, and it's still going strong. It's not suitable for quick succession, though, because you have to put the metal backings in a very specific way, press VERY hard, and press down from a very specific part of the lever. You will get more consistent results if you place the back super gently by holding on by the pin part and gently setting it down in the press. Don't push it down while placing it, or else it will get lodged in place and fail. The parts spin a little when you're pressing, so you have to arrange the back at a slight angle so that it spins into a place that's more horizontal with your art.You have to press down very hard and steadily from the middle of the lever for best results. It'll still fail on occasion even following these instructions, but it's a lot more reliable than if you don't use these steps.Deducting a star because of this temperamental nature, but overall I'm pleased with it. The plastic is a lot stronger than it seems.

Great for hobby use
Was concerned seeing reviews that it was cheap and didn't work, but it has been working great for my needs. Made about 200 buttons out of trading cards. Tip for people who want to try something similar: if you are making buttons out of trading cards, do not cut the card to wrap around inside the pin. Cut the card to be 1.25" and tape it with thin double-sided tape to the middle of a 1.75" circle cut out of thin printer paper. That way the thin printer paper will be the only thing wrapping inside the button. It will not work if you try to cut the card to be 1.75".For the price it does what I need it to do, if you want to do this professionally, get a sturdy metal name-brand one. But if it's just for a hobby it's great.

TEMPORARY
Used this for a while (2 months) then the bottom completely snapped in half making it totally unusable. Not intended for long stability. Was great while it lasted I suppose.

not bad
had a couple oops buttons but I think thatas operator error and not the machines fault. it's really easy to accidentally use more than one mylar disc, so pay attention to that. Was a little hard to press at first but after about 5 it gets easier. Made about 75 buttons over a weekend. The plastic backing could be better and I'm not sure how well they will hold on thicker fabrics. I ended up having more plastic backings left over than metal discs, so the count may not be accurate. All and all seems pretty sturdy and I would recommend for the price point.

Great for the novelty business
I bought this for my business and I want to say that it has been the best investment I've ever did for my business. It is great for what it costs and it easy to use and store.

Seems fragile
This was literally delivered within the last hour and the set up was easy and straight forward. I have experience in using a button press and this is no different that other models I’ve used. However I will say that it’s obvious that this thing is so fragile. I’m used to having to press down pretty hard to make sure the button is secure but when I did the same to this machine the handle started to bend so be weary of that. Also because of how lightweight it is it tends to shift on a smooth table. So I would recommend maybe getting some foam pads to prevent that. The color is also very very green so if U have a certain aesthetic to your craft room keep that in mind. But this is a great cheap machine. I appreciate the extra goodies like the rotary cutter and paper pack
