Use this game when you want to game with non-gamers
I bought this game after reading some reviews of the best games to introduce to and play with non-gamers. I love games, but I'm not always with a gaming group. When I get desperate and want to coax people into doing something other than sitting around and watching TV I reach for a simple game. I'm glad I added this one to my collection. The rules for No Thanks are simple and there is no geeky space or fantasy theme to make non-gamers shy away. There is no text to read on the cards, and the game is numbers based so it's easy to explain to people regardless of their native language. There's just enough strategy to make it very competitive if you like, and after a few games people will be coming up with their own strategies to win. It's pretty funny when someone gets stuck without any chips and has to pick up a high numbered card. Games also do not take very long so players who are losing won't need be frustrated for too long. I have also never introduced this to a new group of people that only wanted to play it once --- inevitably someone asked to play another round, and that's the sign of a good game! The components are fine. Just cards and chips. The cards are good quality and I can't imagine feeling a need to sleeve them. The box is simple and small enough to throw in a bag to use on a trip. It's just cards and chips so I could see people storing this in something other than the original packaging.Boardgame Geek says that this game is best with 4-5 players, and I would agree. I normally play this game with groups of four (usually two couples) and it works well!I would recommend this to any gamer who would like to have something around to introduce to non-gamers looking for a casual good time. No Thanks is far more interesting than UNO, and is less complicated than the excellent (and not even that complicated) Sushi Go!Check it out.

Fun play as long or short as you like game!
We played this with friends, and decided we wanted to purchase it for ourselves to play with friends and family. It's not to hard to learn to play, and can be played as long or short as you like. I like that it is fun to play and pretty fast paced! It comes in a small box and could easily be carried in a backpack, purse, or suitcase if you were wanting to travel with it. Good quality game.

Family Friendly and Easy to Understand
The small size of this box makes it great to pack for a road trip. The extra sized cards a great and good quality, although the tokens are a little small and easy to drop. The game itself is easy understand and quick to play a game in 5-10 minutes. There is no single strategy that consistently wins, so playing a mix with experienced and new players is no problem and makes this a great family game!

A great filler that everyone will enjoy
No Thanks! is a simple card game where players either take a card or pass on a card (paying a token) in order to get the lowest score out of the group. Sounds simple enough, but there's a catch. If you have a run of cards, say for example, 21, 22, 23, and 24, you only "score" the lowest card in the run. So in this case, you would only score 21 points even though you have 90 points in cards represented. This leads to all of the interesting decisions that come up like this:A player has that run described above and flips over the next card - it's a 25. Taking this card will literally cost the player nothing, but there's no fun in just taking it. So instead, they put a chip on it, saying "No Thanks!" The next player then has to decide whether to take the card with the chip or pass as well. They can't afford to take the points so they pass as well. This continues around the table until it comes to the original player who flipped the card. Now, with all the chips, this card actually represents negative points! If it went through 4 other players, it would net the player -4 points now if they take it! They could decide to send it around the table again and attempt to get more chips, but it may not get back to them, which isn't a huge deal as that means someone else is taking positive points.Another element that adds to the fun is that 9 cards are randomly pulled from the deck, meaning that you may take a card in attempts to complete a run and a necessary bridge card may not even be in the deck! It's classic push your luck with an element of strategy and odds calculating added in.In the end, this is a great little game that has been a big hit with everyone I've played with. Rounds are super quick so you can get several games in rather quickly - works perfectly as a good warm up/cool down game, or as an event all unto itself.
