Buy Buy Buy, Raid/Happy out
Look, Data Fusion is what you been looking for in a SSD driver. I have a page on this SSD but I will try to keep it short. The Samsung SSD 840 and 840 PROI had four of these drivers for about a week and the Sonnet Tempo. Drivers Seq. Read ~ Write ~ Random* 2- 500GB 840 ~ 402/236 ~ 38887/34384* 1- 120GB 840 ~ 350/133 ~ 36289/11530* 512GB 840 PR0 ~ 403/235 ~ 38861/31582On my system the 840pro and the 840 are about the same on the SATA III (6Gb/s).My system is about four years old, base spec. are:- AMD's Phenom II X6 1090T at 3.6Ghz- Gigabyte 790FXTA-UD5- 16Gb DDR3 1333Mhz- Dual ATI HD5970's- 30" HP Monitor- three 7200 rpm HDDs with differ OS.- DVDs - etc....Those read ~ write were ok but NOT what I was looking for so I tried the Sonnet Tempo (I was going for PCIe) but it would not work at all with this setup {see sonnet tempo review for more}. "Now" I was just looking for an SSD that would give me at less 500read/ 300write and the real world like the back of the box said.I kept two of them SSD and the weaker two SSDs got send back; the slower 840 and the 840 pro with back with the Sonnet Tempo card/apt.I put the other 500GB 840 SSD in my mother's old AMD's Athlon 3500+ (ONE core) Computer and it helped. It went for waiting to open one program to opening four or five program at the same time. Mother was happy. The 120GB 840, I'm using it for my Windows 7 paged files for the VisionTek Data Fusion SSD PCIe card.Drivers Seq. ~ Read / Write ~ RandomFusion 480 ~ 758/619 (ave) ~ 39046/32803 (ave)WD 1TB 7200 RPM ~ 52/54 (best) ~ 141/178 (best)Fusion 480, It's a keeper! Seq. is 14.5 X faster read and 11.5 X faster write = faster everything and smoother programs play. The math on the Random R/W are close to the Samsung on this system.Denotes:(ave) = Average;Random = random read/ write; All read/ write numbers are in MB/s.Raid to Happy, out.Added note: VisionTek Data Fusion is Bootable, and with my Windows 7 64-bit, Trim is on yes in raid 0; I know some say it would not work but on this 480 Data Fusion "trim" is working; and With over 700Mb read/ and over 600MB write.VisionTek support was on time too. I had a question in a hour or two they got back with me.

Works perfectly as advertised
Purchased a month ago, no problems. This thing is fast. I'm getting amazingly superb read/write times at around 550-600 mbps with average everyday use. Bootable and works in my custom mac pro. This thing makes my computer the monster that it is. Best entry level PCIe SSD. No TRIM support :( , but onboard raiding in 0 or 1 configuration is possible for even faster or safer computing. Not sure exactly what the advertised RAISE technology does for me, but its there for those who care. The only other mac bootable option as of this writing is the Mercury Accelsior 2 by OWC. Visiontek customer support is ok, but at least responsive. Remember to register within 30 days for full 3 year warranty otherwise they stick you with a 1 year. For the money, I could not ask for more. If you want the latest and truly greatest technology in your build, go for PCIe Flash SSD, and Visiontek offers a very attractive one for the money. Also comes in 240gb and 480gb configs. Big thanks to amazon for the competitive price!

Good Service from VisionTek
I have no doubt that if this card had worked for me it would have been great, but even though I couldn't get it to work, I am giving it 3 stars because of the excellent service I got from VisionTek. The problem was not the card, it was my motherboard. For some reason I still don't understand, installation of the board caused my 2 SATA hard drives not to be recognized in the BIOS (if anyone knows why I would love to know). The card itself was recognized by the BIOS, but after an hour on the phone with Dell Pro Support trying a number of BIOS settings, the Dell support folks concluded that the mobo simply wouldn't support the card. I also called VisionTek support, but they had no suggestions and directed me to Dell. My best guess is that the RAID controller in the card prevented my SATA hard drives from operating. The good news was that VisionTek immediately issued an RMA with no argument or hassle. I simply explained that it was incompatible with my mobo and that was that. Instead I bought a U32 Shadow USB 3.0 ssd to get the storage space and speed I needed.

Good drive, but it might not be the best solution.
I bought this drive for the performance. After benchmarking it, the results were close to those advertised. I also bought 2 crucial M500 SSD drives and put them in a RAID 1 for additional storage. They turned out to be just as fast as this for reads. So, if I had it to do again - I would have just bought two 960 GB M500 and put them in a RAID 1. It would have been less expense and a RAID 1 is less scary than the RAID 0 that this uses. Of course, if you do not have the open drive bays, this might be the best solution for you.

This is a great drive
So far I love this drive. It is fast and seems very stable. That is the best you can hope for.I am getting about 793 read and 750 write, so pretty good. For the money this is a great buy and far more stable than drives costing a lot more.Update 7/8/14I used this drive as my main boot drive for a little less than a year. It has performed very well. I have no complaints. It was fast and easy to set up and just worked all the time. I have since moved on to the OCZ Revodrive 350 and am currently using that as my main boot drive. I still use this drive as a backup. Great workhorse of a drive for the money.....

Not in the same league as the OCZ RevoDrive 350 ...
Not in the same league as the OCZ RevoDrive 350 in terms of performance, but not that much less expensive either. Four stars due to small price difference.

Blazing fast
Blazing fast, windows 10 boot disk with no issues, A+ reliability not so much as a disk error in 6 mnths, and did I mention it's blazing fast? Best $75 used of amazon I've spent in a long time.. (this review is for the 240 not 960)

Finally a system that boots faster than my phone
I use this drive to boot my lab system which I run VMware to test combinations of Server 2012 and Linux. I am constantly booting new VM's and this cuts my time considerably. It's also much cleaner and simpler than using SSD's in my SATA bays. I am considering a second to run them in RAID 1.
